Sections and pages within sections
Sections and pages within sections have been reorganized, named, and/or moved. The 7th Rest section is now clearly marked the same name Rest on every page. It is true, they are all different pages, but it is hoped that the location of the rest page compared to other pages near it will clue people to which page it is. Patterns repeat in music… and so this is not necessarily bad on that level either.
Some sections, such as Irish Whistle 1 have been revamped big time. After creating my own Amazon store, I was still in need of a more organized setup what people should know ‘before’ they learn to read music. Having went through many beginner music books, I find them… dull. I’d rather something more meaty. In looking through old books, I ran across a 1958 music book for learning piano. It literally teaches music from the standpoint of tone, rhythm, more about tone, more about rhythm, and the minor stuff like patterns and scales. Humorous… yet, succinct. You really didn’t need to know more, and yet subject wise, it was clean. So, I made a Tone and a Rhythm page. They aren’t finished obviously. I also dropped Breath pages in favor of a Posture page. I’ll just have to merge Breath within the Posture page.
With all this editing… I’m still hoping this site doesn’t take too long. And it’s still true that I haven’t figured out how to fix the ability to purchase a subscription yet. On the other hand… with the design presently… the first section of Irish Whistle should provide more information than any other site I’ve seen with some of the subjects covered.
Also… thinking of playing a weak note and a strong note on separate recordings for examples within the tone page. When I feel I’ve got time, of course.
