I have been getting transaction errors almost daily due to the software issue of the prior pay requirements of this website. Enough of the emails, lol, I removed the pay requirements entirely.

This website is by no means finished. I really gave it my all the fall season before last, yet I was not able to finish it. College is coming up, and I am not sure I want to try to give this website much time the few weeks that remain. (Playing with Java now. And yes… Java would be extremely cool integrated in this website.)

Anyhow, this website is on my mind. I will be giving it attention in the future.

After a few software updates, I have some PayPal questions… okay several. I can say that God is extremely nice, as with my other websites, software updates seem to dismantle my work whereas this website has for the most part maintained it’s design.

The plan is still the same, and several recordings need to be made for pages missing recordings. In addition, I need to script music through LilyPad; I need to script songs in each key. There are lessons as well that need to be finished.

I am waiting on a few things… such as my orchid in sumi to look how I want it, and my college responsibilities fulfilled. When my Irish Whistle again is good enough to record, I record some more for individual pages.

So, until I realize it, after updating the audio plugin, the audio may not work.

Another strange issue in the day of a website maker.

This makes the first 3 sections from the left in this website and the 7 pages within each of these sections finished with content. Pictures, Audio, and clean up are left in these sections.

Present work is being directed in placing content within the ‘Reading Music 1′ section(4th section from the left) and the seven pages within this section.

Toying with the idea of turning this section into a comic section for amusement. Have stuff on the plate already of course.

For those who are interested, the Bible verses are first searched to relate to the Irish Whistle or music book by book. However, if there isn’t a verse that can do that in a particularly short book, or it’s excessively depressing, the verse will apply to faith, morals, and/or current events. As you may see by the sheer number of verses that have quoted musical instruments, music, and song, there is a lot of mention of music in the Bible.

Site wise, there has been a change from CSS that didn’t work on most web browsers to some JavaScript that does. The JavaScript was a bit of a pain, as I am not as familiar with that language. The page clarity is being worked a bit by the creation and placement of bold section headings. Bible verses have now been done through the first four sections, the present focus on the fifth section ‘Reading Music 2′. There has been a bit of code clean-up on the first three sections. Code clean-up is always welcome in my opinion.

Future hopes… more bible verses done, more pages finished, more code cleanup, a smidgen of sheet music cleanup, and several other things.

Sections and pages within sections have been reorganized, named, and/or moved. The 7th Rest section is now clearly marked the same name Rest on every page. It is true, they are all different pages, but it is hoped that the location of the rest page compared to other pages near it will clue people to which page it is. Patterns repeat in music… and so this is not necessarily bad on that level either.

Some sections, such as Irish Whistle 1 have been revamped big time. After creating my own Amazon store, I was still in need of a more organized setup what people should know ‘before’ they learn to read music. Having went through many beginner music books, I find them… dull. I’d rather something more meaty. In looking through old books, I ran across a 1958 music book for learning piano. It literally teaches music from the standpoint of tone, rhythm, more about tone, more about rhythm, and the minor stuff like patterns and scales. Humorous… yet, succinct. You really didn’t need to know more, and yet subject wise, it was clean. So, I made a Tone and a Rhythm page. They aren’t finished obviously. I also dropped Breath pages in favor of a Posture page. I’ll just have to merge Breath within the Posture page.

With all this editing… I’m still hoping this site doesn’t take too long. And it’s still true that I haven’t figured out how to fix the ability to purchase a subscription yet. On the other hand… with the design presently… the first section of Irish Whistle should provide more information than any other site I’ve seen with some of the subjects covered.

Also… thinking of playing a weak note and a strong note on separate recordings for examples within the tone page. When I feel I’ve got time, of course.

There are issues with the Ogg file format. It’s a file format like the Flac format, except that I didn’t know anything about the Flac format before today. After exporting some files, the Flac format appeared to play well, though the proprietary players wouldn’t play it. It seems my outdated Quicktime PRO exports m4v and wma. I know that some users will wander to the page and walk away if the file doesn’t play on the page. My implementing the VLC player into the page seems a failure as autostart is still starting.

I think that means less than 10 percent of computers can play my ogg without doing something like installing software. This is not helpful to others, nor to me. Think I’ll aim for at least wma files in the near future.

While it may look like there is simply a number of pages missing, that’s quite a misconception. I have been working hard and thinking a lot about this website in order to create a website that is organized and has a place for all the content I will add in the future. The website is structured in 7 sections of 7 pages each, with a final page for resting from learning and practicing by listening to music.

The mechanical structure for subscription is not fully implemented, though the structural pattern of losing 1 more page per section that is without cost is present. Ideally, people will enjoy this structure in the long run.

The purchase structure for buying an Irish Whistle or helpful book toward Music is still being considered.
